Connor Barth (TB – K) tore his Achilles tendon during a charity basketball game, and will not play the 2013 season. The Buccaneers quickly signed former New York Giant Lawrence Tynes to replace him. Tynes and Barth are of similar talent (84.6% vs 84.8% field goals made last year, respectively), but it is important to note that Tampa Bay attempts more long field goals than New York does (9 vs 3 in 2012). Tynes would make a fine addition to your fantasy team this year, although there are a few better kickers to target if they happen to fall to you in the last two rounds of your draft.
Barth joins Michael Crabtree (SF – WR) and Anthony McCoy (SEA – TE) in the 2013 preseason torn Achilles club.
